Discovery:
Ute was designed by Ford Australia in 1932. An engineer in Ford Australia, Lewis Brandt designed a Ute, working on a request from a farmer's wife. The lady had demanded for a car that could carry load as well as her family in the same car. This car proved to be a great hit among other Australians and soon Ford Australia started production of Utes. In 1934 the first commercial ute rolled out of the Ford's production line. It became popular not only in Australia but also in also other parts of the world and many car manufacturers started producing their own styled utes.
